Decapitated Fred!

Yesterday we had another dr. appt. for Jacobs arm at this point I couldn't tell you how many times we have been back and fourth to the doctors but they know him by name now. Its almost become a routine for us. Jacob got his last cast off yesterday and is now wearing a soft cast. Yay improvement! His arm is healing fast and we are so greatful for that. He was given a blue stress toy to use for his hand for motion, the dr. was impressed with how well he was able to move his hand we are trying physical therapy at home, we go back in a couple of weeks if he is still impressed with Jacobs progress we will not need to go to a physical therapist which we are so hoping for. Anyway Jacobs stress toy is a blue starman which he named "Fred" this is what Fred looks like or did look like "Click Here For Pic Of Fred" . Unfortunately Fred lost his head today literally.

Jacob was working with it, and his head popped off......Although he can still use the rest of the stress toy it just looks sad without a head.

Why he named it Fred is beyond us but ok we rolled with it.

Cody is onry as ever. Recently we went to a fall sports recognition for the athletes, and they got to cross country got all the kids on stage and the coach started her speech when our dimpled darling and his friend started stripping on the stage, thank god they stopped at the last layer of clothing just the same the minute the auditorrium erupted I wanted to sink further down in my chair but couldn't because my backside would of hit the floor. So embarrassing but funny as all get out.

Cody also likes to start new "trends" so the other day he wore tan shorts, a blue tshirt, a white long sleeve shirt, and a nice dress coat to school in 20 degree weather.......funny as heck but he made it look good. About a week before that he wore a silver necklace with a small plastic car tag that had his name on it, and everyone loved it. Looked silly to me but I'm just a mom right what do I know.

At this point I am praying like crazy that all my boys that are graduating this year behave, at the rate they are going I'm scared to see what they pull off next.

They really are good kids, just onry and they all have come by it honestly.

Its been awhile!

Things kinda went downhill again for us, I am thoroughly convinced it never ends and it never will, Jacob has broken his arm a few weeks ago. Hes doing a lot better now but hes been through so much. He literally broke it in two with one bone laying on the other and has had to have 2 surgeries which he did phenomenal through. We go back on Thursday the doctor wants to take off the cast and x-ray Jacob has had to have two pins put in. Unfortunately they had to put one right in his growth plate. I am so scared he will have problems later on down the road with this... Other then being stir crazy he's doing great, he hasn't needed pain pills in the last couple of days and just yesterday was able to start wearing his blue jeans, hes been living in sweatpants. All of this from playing football with friends, he was tackled on the sidewalk of all things but he did get the touchdown.

Cody seems to be the only one doing well these days. He ran in the regionals for cross country and had done so well he is going to state on friday we are so proud of him, he just keeps going strong.

I feel like random melancholy every now and then, we have so much bad and some good I get so tired......just tired of trying to hold things and my family together sometimes it can be just too much.

I have found a way to take out some of my frustrations though, I am learning to crochet again. Its been alot of fun. I have also started a blog about it so I can see where I start and if I improve big if lol..... heres a link to it....... Look out justamoms crocheting

Homecoming!

My Cody was picked for homecoming king how cool is that. What a great experience. At the same time it was kinda bizarre for us as we were sitting on the bleachers before they had announced the king people were actually chanting his name my husband and I just looked at each other it was weird for the both of us. Then when they announced him as homecoming king it was like a huge eruption from the bleachers. Our football players also won their game that night which was totally killer we needed a win!

Only thing that got to me was this older woman comes up to him and said "you don't deserve it but congratulations anyway" I was kinda ticked after that comment. We just laughed it off, but why are people so quick to judge when they don't even know him. We had no idea who this lady was. My son works his butt off he gets awesome grades, he runs over 40 miles a week for practice on his own time for cross country he works out for weight lifting. He also plays baseball in the spring for the school as well as cross country which he is doing now on top of all that he works. I guess it just hit me the wrong way because I know what all he goes through and to have someone say that really set me off. Oh well I guess its true what they say about opinions!

So busy these days......

It's been insanely busy for us. Over the weekend a couple of Cody's friends had come home from college to visit. I made a chocolate cake on Saturday and apple cobbler on Sunday and both are just gone. Where on earth did these boys put it all too funny. Cody is in the running top four for home coming king. The awesome thing about it is he is in with three of his friends. The funny part about it is they are all cross country runners and not one single football player, I always thought that the football players got picked to run boy was I wrong. I am just glad that they all get to experience this together.

Jacob is doing fine, he gets bummed now and then because his best friend moved up to the city to live with his dad for a year. Good thing is he gets to see him now and then when he comes home for the weekend to stay with his mom. I hate seeing him down though hes a good kid. There's just some things I cannot fix........

Jesse is and isn't doing alright his blood pressure is being stubborn and refuses to come down, he is also having foot problems on top of his other problems. Its hard not to get frustrated when we have so much to get done with the house and we both deal with the frustrations of it all. The doctor didn't change his blood pressure pill instead he put him on a pill that will lower his heart rate so far I am not impressed.

We lost our girl...

We lost Taz on Sept. 3. She lived a long good life. We have had her since my oldest was about 2 I can remember her chasing him down the hallway and biting the diapers off his butt but yet never ever left any marks on him. Of course Cody had eventually turned it into a game he thought it was funny.

Its funny some people have pets our pets have kids. Taz would do bed checks on the boys every night. She would wake us up when one of the boys was sick. One time someone try to break in and she scared them off. In the end it wound up just being someone I knew that was stupidly drunk trying to get in, but it still scared the crap out of me because Jesse worked nights and I was pregnant with Jacob and home alone with Cody. She was a great protector. Although in her own yard she would bark at people she didn't know sad thing was she could be bought with goodies. We would occasionally find steak bones in the yard.

Its really weird not having her anymore I keep wanting to put water and food in her dishes I guess thats just part of my usual routine. We buried in the back yard on a rainy day. It was was different one of our friends had shown up at the house Jacob told her where we were and what we were doing, she grabbed a shovel and helped us dig the hole. After we got her buried another friend from across the street had come over to see what was up and was telling the story he loves about her because he had seen it first hand. When she was younger a lot younger someone had let her out of the fence so we took the car to bring her back we were going 30mph and she passed us like we were standing still it was the funniest thing. Then eventually while we were still out looking for her she had decided to come home on her own. It was just so funny to me that she came home on her own time wether we liked it or not. She definitely had an attitude at times and wasn't afraid to use it.

It really nailed me though that the timing for people to come over was when we were burying our girl. I think that is just so weird. At the same time I was very grateful because it made it so much easier on us.

I don't really know why I typed all this out maybe just to get it out who knows.

Rest in peace Taz you will be and are very missed but always remembered!

Now a lizard!

First the baby blue now a lizard do I dare ask whats next........

Not for sure what kind this is we were just surprised it was here.

Kinda hard to see but its holding up one paw, my mom says that it was flipping me off. Probably was but it didn't make it easy on me to take the picture after about the 10th time I finally got one. Never failed once I went to take the picture it would hide.

Its been kinda crazy here in town. One of our friends had a huge snake show up in her house. Then the other day one of my youngest friends said he had found a small snake in his. He was smart about it though he grabbed the fishing net and scooped it up and took it back to the wooded area. Although now I am getting nervous with all the remodeling on our house we have holes, snakes don't bother me but I sure don't want that kind of a surprise.......

We live close to the river so maybe thats whats causing it, just don't know. First time since we have been here that I have heard of snakes invading homes here.

What happened to real crafts?????????

For the past few days I have been under the weather and was unable to go to our towns fair. A friend of ours went to check out the craft show and gave us a full report. He cracks me up I don't think he realized how much I needed his humor. Anyway he was telling us that there were hardly any craft booths and the ones that were there pretty much stunk. Although he did say that there was one with homemade baby clothes, I think that is pretty neat but my boys are grown. Now for the part that really made me laugh. He said someone was selling "marshmallow shooters". So naturally I had to ask what on earth that was. It was just cut pvc pipes, I guess you are supposed to put miniature marshmallows in one end and blow them out the other. Why would someone try to sell cut pvc pipe which you can buy at a hardware store probably cheaper and call that a craft........Come on people get creative! Thats worse then putting mini marshmallows in a baggie and calling it snowman poop.......

I get so frustrated with so called crafts. When I was younger we did craft shows. My dad does wood working he is just awesome, my mom is a florist and a damn good one at that. I can say she is a florist because she went to school for at as well as has her degree. She is not some fly by night Martha Stewart wanna be sorry another one that gets me........Mom and I can both paint, I do needlework and we also had cloth dolls that were just too cute for words.

There is still so much I want to learn, I have been reading on how to make braided rag rugs, I want to do some in denim as we are well stocked in old jeans I thought they looked pretty darn cool. I would love to try my hand at making jewelry, I cannot find much in necklaces and earrings anymore that I like. It's always the same stuff.......I want to get into woodworking, I already know what my first project will be well actually a couple of projects. I want to make a cold frame for my plants I am going to use a screen window instead of door and replace the glass with plexi glass. I thought the screen window would work out better and wouldn't be so heavy. I also found instructions for this really kick butt picket fence planter I want to make a couple of those as well.........

I guess for the most part I miss seeing people who love what they do, and their creativity.

Whats been going on

Currently I am fighting an infection that got so bad it started to go into my kidneys, last Friday doc hooked me up with some meds for that I am starting to feel better finally.........he also hooked me up with pain pills for my back he said I could drive with them lmao not going to happen they knocked me flat off my butt and when I did wake up I was loopy.........although if you ask my hubby he will probably tell you thats my normal state........at least they didn't leave me comatose like the last ones I was on did.........

Now for the fun stuff.........13 years ago I had a lump removed, well here I go again I found one last week and wouldn't you know it pretty much in the same place........I will get this checked out as soon as I completely heal from the other stuff I am dealing with as they will not be able to remove it until the infection is gone anyway. I am not putting it off this is something that really tears me up. I cannot stress enough how important it is to check things out and take care of it. Don't go by the statistics I was 21 years old when I had my first one removed it can happen to anyone at any age. Including men.........so get those knockers checked!

I am not thrilled about this as you can imagine but I am not scared and I refused to be. I do tend to get nervous with the waiting of the results. I think for the most part of it is because your life and views change on how you deal with things.....and the waiting is a pain!.........

I didn't type this for pity, but for strength and as a reminder........

Never a dull moment!
